Olfen officials deny rumors of Steveraue daycare closure
The city of Olfen and the German Red Cross (DRK) have issued a joint statement to deny rumors regarding the closure of the Steveraue daycare center. Officials confirmed that the facility will remain open and will continue to provide childcare services through the 2027/2028 daycare year.
Ann-Christin Meng has served as the new director of the facility since summer 2026. The DRK, which took over the management of the center in 2024 at the request of the city, remains the provider and also operates several other daycare centers in Olfen.
