Olga Arseni found with 871,000 lei in unjustified wealth
The National Integrity Agency (ANI) has identified unjustified wealth exceeding 871,000 lei belonging to Olga Arseni, the director of the ‘Speranța’ rehabilitation center for the elderly and persons with disabilities in Vadul lui Vodă.
The discrepancy stems from findings related to the years 2019 and 2025. In 2019, an integrity inspector noted a difference of 264,344.19 lei linked to the purchase of a vehicle and related customs services. For 2025, a difference of 606,770.14 lei was established following a search by the National Anticorruption Center, which seized 34,150 euros and 500 US dollars at Arseni’s residence.
Arseni claimed the seized funds belonged to other individuals and were being held at her home, asserting that some amounts came from the sale of real estate. However, the integrity inspector determined that these explanations lacked sufficient evidence to prove the money's origin. Consequently, ANI has ordered the termination of Arseni’s employment and a three-year ban on exercising certain official functions. The case has been referred to the competent court for potential asset confiscation.
