Olga Tokarczuk to inaugurate River of Literature Festival

The first edition of the River of Literature Festival is scheduled to take place from August 20 to 23 in the Lubuskie region of Poland. Organized by the Olga Tokarczuk Foundation in collaboration with the Góry Literatury Festival Foundation, the event will span several locations including Zielona Góra, Bojadła, Trzebiechów, Zaborze, and Klenica.

Nobel laureate Olga Tokarczuk is set to inaugurate the festival in Zielona Góra. During the opening, she will read an excerpt from her unpublished novel, ‘Świata jest za dużo’ (There is Too Much World), which explores the lives of people in the region. The festival program includes Odra river cruises, poetic meetings, workshops, and concerts featuring artists such as Waglewski Fisz Emade, Mela Koteluk, Kortez, and Raz Dwa Trzy. The event aims to connect regional identity and environmental protection through literary and musical engagement.
