Olga Tokarczuk to premiere her new novel ‘Świata jest za dużo’

Nobel laureate Olga Tokarczuk is set to premiere her new novel, ‘Świata jest za dużo’ (There is Too Much World), on October 14, 2026, at the Centennial Hall in Wrocław. The event will open the Bruno Schulz Festival and mark the 10th anniversary of the Wrocław Literary House.

The novel, which Tokarczuk describes as her “last large novel,” is a constellation-style work set in the spring of 1946 amidst the ruins of post-war Wrocław. It explores the lives of repatriates and displaced persons moving to Lower Silesia, a history that includes the author’s own ancestors.

Amid the upcoming release, controversy has emerged regarding a refused interview. Wydawnictwo Literackie declined to pass interview questions from ‘Rzeczpospolita’ journalist Adam Pantak to the author, citing a “too confrontational tone.” The questions reportedly addressed Tokarczuk’s previous comments regarding her use of artificial intelligence in her creative process.
