Olginate prepares funeral for community figure Mauro Sala

The community of Olginate is preparing to hold a funeral for Mauro Sala, 68, on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the local parish church. Sala was a prominent figure in the town, known for his extensive volunteer work and involvement in local traditions.

As a member of the Marinai group and a collaborator with the Pro Loco, Sala was a constant presence at community events, including the Feast of Santa Maria and celebrations in Consonno. He was particularly noted for his role in organizing the November 4th celebrations for National Unity and the Armed Forces. Olginate Mayor Marco Passoni praised Sala as a discrete heart of local tradition who served the community with genuine respect and care.
