Olimpia assistant criticizes refereeing and pitch conditions after draw

Olimpia assistant coach Osvaldo Carro has criticized both refereeing decisions and pitch conditions following a 2-2 draw against Estrella Roja in Danlí during the fifth round of the Honduran Liga Nacional Apertura tournament.

Carro expressed frustration with officiating, specifically regarding the goals conceded by Olimpia. He claimed that certain fouls were incorrectly called and that a penalty was wrongly awarded, stating that a “manija” (bias) against the club has persisted since the previous tournament. He noted that in his international experience, he had not seen a country where the largest team faced such perceived opposition.

Additionally, the technical staff complained about the state of the Marcelo Tinoco stadium pitch. Carro described the field as having uneven, high grass that hindered ball movement and made it difficult to play, contrasting the conditions unfavorably with the Estadio Chelato Uclés.
