Olimpia beats Mixco 2‑0 in Copa Centroamericana debut

Honduran club Olimpia opened its group‑stage campaign in the 2026 Copa Centroamericana with a 2‑0 victory over Guatemalan side Deportivo Mixco. The match was played at the Estadio Nacional José de la Paz Herrera “Chelato Uclés” in Tegucigalpa on 28 July 2026.

Jorge Benguché scored the first goal in the 27th minute after a pass from Edwin Rodríguez, who added a second in the 79th minute to seal the win. Mixco created several chances and threatened the lead, but Olimpia goalkeeper Edrick Menjívar kept a clean sheet. The result gives Olimpia three points and a strong start in Group D, while Mixco returns to the tournament seeking its first points.
