Coach Pablo ‘Vitamina’ Sánchez confirmed the player's status upon the team's arrival in Rio de Janeiro, noting that while Alfaro is out of danger, he is unable to participate in the upcoming fixture. Alfaro has been a key figure for the Paraguayan club this season, appearing in 30 matches. The return leg of the matchup is scheduled for August 20 in Paraguay.
