Olimpija director denies club sale rumors

Igor Barišić, the football director of Olimpija, has denied rumors that the club is for sale, stating that he has not received any official offers. Addressing previous comments regarding a potential sale price of approximately 30 million euros, Barišić emphasized that the club's brand value is distinct from other football collectives.

Barišić also addressed the club's financial and sporting status. He dismissed claims that the club is facing significant debt, describing the financial situation as satisfactory. However, he acknowledged a difficult period in the sporting department following recent poor performances, including a loss to a third-league team in the domestic cup and a low position in the league standings.

Parallel discussions regarding the club's recruitment strategy highlight challenges in securing domestic talent. Despite intentions to invest in Slovenian players, recent transfer activity has seen the departure of key players, raising questions about the club's ability to acquire young players with high resale potential.
