Oliver Bearman moved by piloting Ayrton Senna's historic Lotus

Haas F1 driver Oliver Bearman expressed deep emotion after piloting the Lotus 97T at Silverstone, the iconic chassis used by Ayrton Senna to secure his first Formula 1 victory at the 1985 Portuguese Grand Prix.

Speaking on the 'F1 Beyond The Grid' podcast, Bearman described the experience as "one of the best days of my life." The event was made more significant by the presence of Senna's original mechanic and engineer, as well as Bearman's father and girlfriend. Although Bearman never saw Senna race live, he noted the driver's lasting legacy and the tragic impact of his death in 1994.

While Bearman was initially instructed to complete only three laps to preserve the engine, he extended the session by an extra high-speed lap, which he described as his "lap of glory."
