Oliver Dragojević memorial events attract thousands in Vela Luka

Across Croatia, the eighth anniversary of Oliver Dragojević’s death sparked a series of musical tributes under the “Trag u beskraju” banner. A concert aboard the Jadrolinija ferry Marko Polo, sailing from Split to Vela Luka, opened the festival despite rain, with Ante Gelo’s band and singers such as Marko Tolja, Iva Ajduković and Mario Pavlić leading the crowd in a sing‑along of Dragojević’s classics.

In Vela Luka, a book presentation for “Oliver za gitaru” by Ante Gelo drew fans and fellow musicians, while the town hosted additional concerts on the rive in Ploče, the Matulj sports hall and other venues. Performers including Petar Grašo, Nina Badrić, Marko Tolja and local groups sang Dragojević’s hits, reinforcing his lasting influence on Croatian popular music. The festivities also featured personal moments, such as actress Jelena Perčin attending the ferry concert with her newly‑wed husband Ante Gelo and their daughter.
