FAST LTA GmbH, a Munich-based specialist in storage and artificial intelligence, has appointed Oliver Kaltner as Chairman of its Advisory Board. Kaltner assumed the role in May 2026.

Kaltner brings over 30 years of experience in IT and consumer electronics, having previously served as CEO of Cherry SE and Leica Camera AG. He also held leadership roles at Microsoft and Sony. His background includes extensive experience in M&A, fundraising, and private equity.

The appointment comes as digital sovereignty becomes a critical factor for public procurement. Since July 2026, public authorities have been permitted to use sovereignty as a criterion for awarding contracts. Kaltner noted that the decision of whom to trust with data will shape future architectures, positioning FAST LTA’s ‘made in Germany’ on-premises infrastructure as a solution for regulated industries.
