Oliver Klemet and Johannes Liebmann qualify for 1500m freestyle final

Oliver Klemet and Johannes Liebmann have qualified for the European Championship final in the 1500-meter freestyle. Klemet won the heats with a time of 14:48.51, followed by Liebmann, the 800-meter freestyle champion, who finished in 14:50.83.

Due to regulations limiting each nation to two finalists per event, Sven Schwarz was excluded from the final despite recording the fifth-fastest qualifying time of 14:52.16. Schwarz had previously won a silver medal in the 800-meter event.

Liebmann noted the difficulty of maintaining high energy levels across multiple competitions, citing the challenge of recovery following the 800-meter final. The championship final is scheduled for Saturday evening.
