Josip Sutalo emerges as defensive leader for SS Lazio

Croatian defender Josip Sutalo has made a significant impact at SS Lazio following his loan from Ajax. After appearing in two matches, Sutalo has been praised for his defensive leadership and high volume of ball recoveries, recording 12 recoveries in recent play—a figure significantly higher than his teammates.

Lazio's manager, Gennaro Gattuso, has integrated Sutalo into the starting lineup, particularly following injuries to other defenders. The player's performance has led to discussions regarding his valuation, as his loan agreement includes an option to buy that could potentially reach 15 million euros.

Other players, including defender Oliver Provstgaard, have noted the positive energy and grit brought to the squad by Gattuso's coaching style. However, the club continues to face internal tensions, with reports highlighting a long-standing fracture between President Claudio Lotito and the Lazio fanbase.
