Oliver Stone to receive honorary degree in Ferrara and celebrate birthday in Rome

American filmmaker Oliver Stone is the subject of several cultural events in Italy. In Ferrara, the University of Ferrara will award him an honorary Master’s degree in Training, Communication, and Digital Citizenship. The ceremony is scheduled for October 8 at the University’s Department of Law, recognizing his career for using cinema to question power, politics, and media narratives.

Additionally, Stone will celebrate his 80th birthday in Rome at the Casa del Cinema. As part of the ‘Oliver Stone 80’ festival, he will introduce a screening of his Academy Award-winning film, ‘Born on the Fourth of July’. The festival in Rome is scheduled to run through September 28.
