Olivia Chow leads Toronto mayoral race in new poll

A new poll from Liaison Strategies indicates that incumbent Olivia Chow holds a double-digit lead in the upcoming Toronto mayoral election, scheduled for October 26. Chow currently holds 50 per cent of support among decided and leaning voters, followed by Brad Bradford at 39 per cent and Chris Alexander at 11 per cent.

Regional data shows Chow leading in downtown, North York, and Scarborough, while Bradford maintains a lead in Etobicoke. Public sentiment regarding the city's direction is divided, with 47 per cent believing Toronto is heading in the right direction and 48 per cent believing it is heading in the wrong direction.

Third-party advocacy groups are also actively influencing the race. Progress Toronto is campaigning to elect progressive candidates and defeat conservatives, while the newly formed A Better City (ABC) Toronto is working to support moderate candidates and align with Brad Bradford. The involvement of these groups has contributed to a sharpening tone in the campaign as the election approaches.
