Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård premiere ‘Wicker’ at Zurich Film Festival

At the 22nd Zurich Film Festival, actress Olivia Colman and co-star Alexander Skarsgård attended the European premiere of their new film, ‘Wicker’. Colman drew significant attention for her appearance, debuting long, natural grey curls—the longest her hair has been in nearly a decade, departing from her signature brunette pixie cut.

‘Wicker’ is a dark fantasy romantic comedy directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson, adapted from Ursula Wills-Jones’ short story ‘The Wicker Husband’. The plot follows an ostracized fisherwoman (Colman) who commissions a local basket weaver (Peter Dinklage) to construct a husband out of wicker. The creation, played by Skarsgård, becomes an unexpectedly alluring presence that sparks jealousy and social upheaval within her village.

Skarsgård noted that his character’s woven body was created using practical effects by Wētā Workshop in New Zealand rather than CGI. Colman praised the film’s script, describing it as one of the most original she has read in a long time.
