Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan release ‘expectations’ remix

Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan have released a remix of the track ‘expectations’, marking the first official feature for Roan. The collaboration includes a new music video featuring David Byrne as an eccentric quiz show host.

The release sparked online debate after some viewers on TikTok and X speculated that parts of the animation were AI-generated, citing distorted limbs and hands. However, the production team clarified that the visuals were hand-drawn using a combination of 2D and 3D techniques, with a grainy aesthetic achieved by running the animation through analogue television screens.
