Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan release “expectations” remix

Olivia Rodrigo has released a remix of her song “expectations” featuring Chappell Roan, accompanied by a music video. In an interview with Zane Lowe, Rodrigo described the track as a “mantra song” intended to be catchy and empowering. She noted that Chappell Roan’s attitude and songwriting style served as an inspiration during the recording process.

Chappell Roan commented on the collaboration, noting the significance of including a fully queer verse in the track. The release occurred on October 15, 2026, coinciding with the release of acoustic and piano versions of Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” on streaming platforms.
