Olivia Rodrigo buys Meg White’s iconic ‘Elephant’ album cover dress

Singer Olivia Rodrigo has revealed that she purchased the iconic white Gunne Sax dress worn by Meg White on the cover of The White Stripes' 2003 album, ‘Elephant’. The garment was sold via Julien’s Auctions in May.

While the dress was initially estimated to be worth between $4,000 and $6,000, Rodrigo ultimately paid $25,600 for the piece, describing the cost as an “absurdly large sum.”

Rodrigo, a long-time admirer of the band and Jack White, originally intended to wear the dress during her Daisy Chain Fields festival in California this August. However, she decided against it due to extreme heat, noting that it would not have been practical to wear the historical outfit in such weather. She suggested she might wear it if she organizes a winter version of the festival.
