Olivia Rodrigo collaborates with Robert Smith on new album track

American pop star Olivia Rodrigo has recorded her first career feature with Robert Smith, the lead singer of British band The Cure. The duet, titled “What’s Wrong With Me,” appears on Rodrigo’s upcoming album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.

The partnership grew out of the two artists sharing stages at major festivals such as Glastonbury and Primavera Sound Barcelona, where they performed Cure classics together. Rodrigo, who has long cited Smith as a major influence, confirmed the collaboration in the album rollout, noting that the track blends her contemporary pop style with the iconic melancholic sound of The Cure.
