Singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo privately donated $5,000 to help Jamie Causey, a first-generation college student, complete her final semester at the University of Alabama.

Causey, who graduated in August 2025, revealed the gesture on TikTok after keeping it secret for a year to avoid making the moment a public spectacle. The connection began when Rodrigo reached out to Causey following a video about the student's 21st birthday. After Causey shared a candid video regarding her financial struggles and the exhaustion of her scholarships, Rodrigo contacted her privately to offer assistance.

Causey noted that she initially doubted the legitimacy of the message until she verified the account's status. The funds allowed her to finish her degree in Public Relations.
