Olivia Rodrigo establishes herself as a major arena rock act
Olivia Rodrigo has established herself as a prominent figure in arena rock, moving beyond her pop origins to embrace a rock-and-roll identity. Drawing inspiration from 1990s feminist-punk and grunge artists like Babes in Toyland, Rodrigo has emphasized the unique emotional quality of rock music created by women, citing the specific expressions of pain, rage, and vulnerability it allows.
During her recent festival appearances, Rodrigo performed with an all-female band featuring guitarists Daisy Spencer and Arianna Powell. Her live sets have included collaborations with various musical idols, most notably sharing the stage with Robert Smith of The Cure at Glastonbury and the Primavera Festival in Barcelona, where they debuted the duet ‘What’s Wrong With Me’.
