Olivia Rodrigo debuts Daisy Chain Fields all-female music festival
Olivia Rodrigo debuted her all-female-led music festival, Daisy Chain Fields, on August 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California. The event drew approximately 45,000 attendees and featured an 11-hour lineup of female artists and female-led groups, including Chappell Roan, Doechii, Bikini Kill, Garbage, Mitski, and The Breeders.
Rodrigo headlined the festival, performing tracks from her album ‘You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love’ and hosting special guest appearances by music icons Alanis Morissette, Stevie Nicks, and Sarah McLachlan. The festival is being viewed as a modern successor to the Lilith Fair, which ran from 1997 to 1999.
Rodrigo reportedly consulted McLachlan during the planning stages, receiving her blessing to carry the torch for female-centric music events. The festival also served a philanthropic purpose, raising $10 million to support nonprofit organizations dedicated to women.
