Olivia Rodrigo makes surprise appearance at Barcelona's Primavera Sound festival
U.S. pop star Olivia Rodrigo surprised attendees with an impromptu set at the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona. The performance, lasting about fifteen minutes, featured songs such as “Bad Idea Right?,” “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl,” “Vampire,” and a preview of her forthcoming third studio album, *You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love*, scheduled for release within a week. Around 71,000 festivalgoers witnessed the show, which followed a secret appearance a month earlier at the Grec in Barcelona. Festival director Gabi Ruiz praised Rodrigo’s impact, likening it to a “Haaland” moment, and noted the festival’s recent line‑up of pop acts including Addison Rae, Sabrina Carpenter and Lana Del Rey. The surprise set also included a collaboration with The Cure’s Robert Smith on the unreleased track “What’s Wrong with Me.”
