Olivia Rodrigo releases expectations remix featuring Chappell Roan

Olivia Rodrigo has released a new version of her song “expectations,” featuring guest vocals from Chappell Roan. The track, titled “expectations (feat. Chappell Roan),” is an expansion of the original song from her album “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.”

Produced by Daniel Nigro and co-written with Amy Allen, the remix incorporates an unreleased verse by Roan that explores themes of romantic disappointment and the demand for balanced relationships. The release is accompanied by a music video directed by Bardia Zeinali, which utilizes a retro game show aesthetic centered around a “Wheel of Misfortune.” The video features David Byrne appearing as a master of ceremonies named Johnny Johnson.

This collaboration follows previous professional ties between the two artists, including Roan serving as an opening act for Rodrigo’s tours and providing backing vocals on studio recordings. The release comes as Rodrigo continues her 2026 tour schedule, with upcoming dates in Toronto, Columbus, and Philadelphia.
