Olivia Rodrigo Announces New Album Celebration, Says She’ll Get Drunk

Olivia Rodrigo, now 23, said on Jimmy Kimmel’s show that she will celebrate the release of her new album by “getting really drunk.” She noted that she is finally of legal drinking age and looks forward to marking the occasion.

Rodrigo described the album’s cover shoot, which took two hours on a swing and left her hands sore. She revealed that Robert Smith of The Cure appears as a guest on the record, a connection she made through her father’s love for the band. Rodrigo’s family recently attended the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, where they saw The Cure perform.

She also shared personal anecdotes, such as her mother skipping Rodrigo’s Lollapalooza headlining set to see nu‑metal band Korn. During the interview, Rodrigo performed her new single “the cure,” and Kimmel arranged for her to babysit a group of fifteen young children, for which he paid her $14.
