Olivia Sanwong faces Bruce Henry for East Bay Parks Ward 5 seat

Incumbent Olivia Sanwong will defend her seat on the East Bay Regional Park District Ward 5 Board of Directors against challenger Bruce Henry in the upcoming November election.

Sanwong, who was first elected to the position in 2022, is highlighting her nine years of governing experience, including her tenure on the Zone 7 Water Agency Board of Directors. Her candidacy covers Pleasanton, Dublin, Fremont, Livermore, Newark, Sunol, and unincorporated eastern Alameda County.

Bruce Henry, the current chair of the district’s Park Advisory Committee, is running to provide voters with a choice, citing a history of uncontested elections in the Park District. Henry stated his goal is to ensure the parks remain safe, accessible, and well-managed.
