Olivia Tremor Control Releases First New Album in 27 Years

The lo‑fi psychedelic pop band Olivia Tremor Control, a key part of the 1990s Elephant 6 collective, has issued its first studio album since 1999. After disbanding in 2000, the group reunited for live shows; co‑leaders Bill Doss died in 2012 and Will Cullen Hart in 2024. Surviving members, together with Elephant 6 collaborators Derek Almstead, Jason NeSmith and Ron Kwasma, completed the 27‑track double album “The Same Place,” which incorporates the singles “The Same Place” and “Garden of Light.”

“The Same Place” was released on 23 October 2024 via the Elephant 6 Recording Co., marking the band’s third studio record and the first new material in 27 years. The Japanese release follows the same schedule, confirming the album’s global availability.
