The comedy‑drama follows married couple Joe (Seth Rogen) and Angela (Wilde) as they invite their noisy upstairs neighbours, Piña (Penélope Cruz) and Hawk (Edward Norton), to dinner, sparking a night of tension, humor and marital introspection. The film was acquired by A24 after a multi‑day bidding war at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival and opened in limited release on June 26 before expanding nationwide on July 10.

The production was shot entirely in a single San Francisco apartment, filmed chronologically on 35 mm to capture the claustrophobic, single‑evening setting. Wilde emphasized a rehearsal‑heavy process that let the script evolve on set, with cinematographer Adam Newport‑Berra and production designer Jade Healy shaping the apartment as a character.
