Halle Berry enters legal battle over custody and abuse allegations

Halle Berry and her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, are engaged in a legal battle over the custody of their 12-year-old son, Maceo. A Los Angeles County judge recently granted Martinez a temporary restraining order against Berry following allegations of physical abuse.

Martinez claims that during an incident on September 26, Berry physically attacked and choked their son during a dispute involving a virtual reality game. He has requested sole custody, citing concerns for the child's emotional and mental well-being. Berry has categorically denied these allegations through her attorney, calling them ‘entirely meritless and deliberately misleading.’ She has filed to restore their previous 50/50 custody arrangement, alleging that Maceo returns from time with his father ‘angry and combative.’

Under the current temporary court order, Berry’s contact with Maceo is restricted to specific daytime hours on certain days of the week. A follow-up hearing is scheduled for October 16.
