Olivier Nora launches new independent publishing house

Olivier Nora, the former head of Grasset for 26 years, has announced the launch of his own independent publishing house, Olivier Nora Editions (ONE). The move follows his departure from Grasset earlier this year, an event that caused significant disruption within the French publishing sector.

Supported by the Editis group, which will hold a minority stake in the new company, ONE aims to publish between 30 and 50 titles annually. Editis will provide commercial, marketing, technical, and administrative services, while its subsidiary Interforum will handle distribution and diffusion. The new house is expected to be based in Paris starting in January 2027.

The first two titles from the new publisher are scheduled for release in October 2026. These include ‘Mémoires provisoires’ by Bernard-Henri Lévy and ‘Sermons sous les décombres’ by Delphine Horvilleur, both of whom were previously published by Nora at Grasset.
