Olímpia Festival do Folclore 2026 kicks off with free entry and performances

The 62nd edition of the Festival do Folclore de Olímpia began on 1 August 2026 at the Recinto do Folclore “Professor José Sant’anna” in Olímpia, São Paulo, with free admission. More than 70 folk groups from 21 Brazilian states, totaling about 2,800 artists, dancers and musicians, will perform until 9 August. The opening night featured a show by samba singer Neguinho da Beija‑Flor, linking the festival to Rio de Janeiro’s carnival tradition.

In addition to the live events, local artist Véi da Ni released the song “Fefol, coração da tradição” as a tribute to the festival’s cultural heritage. The track, accompanied by a video, was posted on YouTube for sharing across social‑media platforms, highlighting the historic role of Olímpia’s folkloric celebrations.
