The PSOL‑Rede federation will hold a virtual meeting on Friday, 17 May, to decide its stance on Olímpio Rocha’s pre‑candidacy for the governorship of Paraíba. Sources indicate an internal trend toward vetoing his candidacy, citing a lack of consensus within the parties and the federation’s support for the re‑election of incumbent governor Lucas Ribeiro (PP). PSOL officially maintains that Rocha’s pre‑candidacy should be upheld; party president Mônica Vilaça said the internal sentiment leans toward maintaining it, while acknowledging the need for a federation decision.

State federation president Cristiana Almeida, who also serves as the state secretary for Women and Human Diversity, confirmed the virtual meeting and said the federation aims to reach a decision before its convention in early August. Rocha, in a statement, reiterated that his pre‑candidacy remains intact and that he will be interviewed on Thursday, 16 May, on CBN Paraíba.
