Olomouc Region expands subsidized senior excursions to Slovakia

The Olomouc Region has continued its long-standing program of providing subsidized day trips for seniors aged 60 and older. For the past 18 years, the region has offered organized excursions that include transportation, a guide, lunch, and insurance for a cost of 300 to 500 CZK per person, thanks to regional subsidies.

This year, the program expanded its reach. In addition to trips within the region, organizers included destinations in the Moravian-Silesian Region and, for the first time, international trips to Slovakia. Specifically, trips to areas around Trnava were highly popular and sold out within days. This initiative is part of a collaborative effort with the Trnava Region, allowing seniors from both areas to visit new locations and engage in active leisure.
