Olomouc streets decorated by university art graduates

Alumni from the Palacký University Olomouc Department of Art Education are increasingly decorating the streets of Olomouc with street art and large-scale murals. The artists, Věra Kopka and Jiří Dosoudil (known as Dosy Doss), are members of the Chaos company art group.

Recent works include a Smetana mural near the main railway station, a piece at the Luční dům in Polská Street, a wall surrounding the Orlák children's playground, and several technical boxes in the Úřední district. Kopka’s work focuses on nature and motherhood, while Dosoudil incorporates surrealism and human psychology into his large-format murals.

The artists report that public reception has been largely positive, with residents often engaging with them during the creative process. While they acknowledge that public art inevitably attracts critics, they view diverse opinions as a natural part of displaying art in public spaces.
