Olomoucká dílna transforms former brickworks into community workshop

The Olomoucká dílna, a community shared workshop in Olomouc, has evolved from a small idea into a significant local project. Founded by Vojtěch Bekárek, the initiative began with a small grant to provide public access to manual labor and craft spaces.

The project recently relocated to a former brickworks building known as Fabricka. Despite the building's dilapidated state and initial plans for demolition, the team and their friends repaired the structure to create a multifunctional space.

Today, the facility offers various workshops for woodworking, leatherworking, textiles, and 3D printing, alongside music rehearsal rooms and a community garden. The project emphasizes sustainability by repurposing discarded materials and equipment donated by the community.
