Olot hosts 40th edition of local commerce event

The 40th edition of the ‘Botiga al carrer’ event is returning to Olot this weekend. Organized by the Olot Merchants Association, the initiative aims to encourage local shopping and revitalize the city's central streets.

To incentivize visitors, the association plans to distribute water this summer, following a previous distribution of eggs in the Market Square during the winter. Association president Esther Verdaguer emphasized that collective action among merchants is essential to compete with online shopping and to encourage residents to visit physical stores.
