Olst-Wijhe municipality provides leaf bins for autumn cleanup

The municipality of Olst-Wijhe has deployed leaf bins at various locations within the built-up area for the autumn season. These bins are specifically intended for collecting leaves from municipal trees to prevent accumulation in public spaces. Residents are reminded that only leaves from municipal trees are permitted; other garden waste, such as pruning debris and plant remains, must be disposed of in green containers.

The municipality will empty the bins weekly to ensure capacity remains available throughout the autumn. The bins are expected to remain in place until the end of December. To assist residents, an online overview of bin locations has been provided.

Local authorities also suggest that residents consider leaving some fallen leaves in their own gardens. This practice can provide essential shelter for wildlife, such as hedgehogs, during the colder months.
