Olsztyn District Court begins murder and robbery trial

The trial of 31-year-old Łukasz K. began on August 13, 2026, at the Olsztyn District Court. He is accused of murder combined with robbery following an incident in Orzysz on April 5, 2026.

Prosecutors allege that the defendant killed a man he knew in order to steal 4,000 PLN. According to the indictment, several people were consuming alcohol at the defendant's residence before the victim was left alone with him. The victim died during the early morning hours of April 5.

During the first hearing, the defendant refused to provide new testimony, leading the court to read his previous statements from the preparatory proceedings. He admitted to striking the victim multiple times but denied having the intent to kill or the intent to steal the money. The court has scheduled further hearings for August 20 and August 24, 2026.
