Olsztyn to modernize 70 parking meters with new technology
The Zarząd Dróg, Zieleni i Transportu (ZDZiT) in Olsztyn has announced a tender to modernize 70 existing parking meters within the city's Paid Parking Zone. Rather than replacing the units entirely, the project focuses on upgrading the current Z3-O model devices to meet new technical and functional requirements.
The modernization will include the installation of color touchscreens measuring at least 9 inches. These screens are designed to remain legible in various weather conditions, including rain, frost, and bright sunlight, and will feature accessibility options for users in wheelchairs. The interface will support three languages: Polish, English, and German.
Additionally, the updated system will require users to enter their vehicle registration numbers. The process will allow for corrections at any stage of the transaction before final acceptance. The upgrades are intended to be performed in situ to ensure the continuity of parking services in the zone.
