Olt County authorities award 3.57 billion lei in public contracts

Between October 2021 and September 2026, public authorities in Olt County, including the County Council and various municipalities, awarded public contracts totaling 3.57 billion lei. An analysis by the Bani Curați platform reveals that the Olt County Council led the spending with approximately 770 million lei, followed by the Caracal City Hall with over 303 million lei and the Slatina City Hall with nearly 130 million lei.

Of the total contract value, roughly 50% was awarded to companies based within Olt County, 15% to firms from Bucharest, and 34% to operators from other counties. The Olt County Council's spending included road modernization projects and public transport services, with the largest single contract identified being a 176.2 million lei public road transport agreement awarded in August 2023.

Additionally, the Olt County Council has initiated transparency procedures regarding the modification of travel tariffs for tickets and subscriptions. This process concerns transport operators managing regular public passenger transport services within the county's territorial competence, valid through December 31, 2028.
