Oltenia Ultra Trail debut features 150 km route through Parâng Mountains

The inaugural Oltenia Ultra Trail competition has taken place, featuring a route that begins in Craiova and extends into the Parâng mountain region. The event aims to promote the natural landscapes of Oltenia through endurance sports.

Participants covered a distance of over 150 kilometers over two days, navigating significant elevation changes and challenging mountain terrain. To ensure safety during the difficult trek, Salvamont Gorj provided specialized assistance from the Crasna sector to the Parâng area, with Salvamont Petroșani handling the subsequent sections of the route.

Sabin Cornoiu, president of Salvamont, noted the importance of the initiative in promoting movement in nature and local landmarks, stating that rescue teams remain ready to assist during such demanding mountain expeditions.
