Olukanyinsola Odebode sentenced to 12 years for sexual assault in UK

Olukanyinsola Odebode, a 30-year-old man, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison by Swansea Crown Court following convictions for rape and two counts of assault by penetration. The offences occurred between June 2024 and September 2025, with one assault taking place while Odebode was out on bail.

Prosecutor Mark Wyeth KC described the defendant as a danger to women in the Wales and England areas, noting that his actions humiliated and degraded the victims. The court heard that Odebode had filmed some of the sexual activity. While Odebode had no prior convictions, the judge, Huw Rees, imposed an extended sentence due to the significant risk he poses to the public.

In addition to the custodial sentence, Odebode will remain on the sex offenders’ register for life. He must serve two-thirds of his term before being eligible to apply for release, subject to Parole Board approval.
