Oluremi Tinubu's Small‑Business Call Boosts Women’s Income in Bwari, Nigeria

First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu urged Nigerian women to start low‑capital enterprises such as roasting corn, frying akara and selling kulikuli. In the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, many women have taken up the advice.

A 43‑year‑old resident, Aisha Musa of Ushafa, now runs a corn‑roasting stall that provides daily cash for food, school fees and modest savings. Similar ventures have appeared across communities including Kubwa, Dei‑Dei, Dutse Alhaji, Bwari Central, Byazhin and Mpape. The small businesses, requiring minimal equipment and investment, are helping households cope with rising food prices and limited formal employment opportunities.
