Olusegun Obasanjo urges Ogun APC candidate to focus on development ahead of 2027 election

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo met with Senate candidate Solomon Adeola, known as Yayi, at his presidential library in Abeokuta and urged him to keep his ambition for the 2027 Ogun State governorship aligned with divine purpose. Obasanjo emphasized a development‑driven agenda, calling for a shift from traditional agriculture to "agribusiness" that would create jobs for youths, and highlighted tourism, financial services and technology as additional growth sectors. He also stressed inclusive, consensus‑based governance rooted in African values, warning against partisan division. Adeola thanked Obasanjo for blessings and guidance, noting the visit also included discussions with former Governor Ibikunle Amosun and a call for unity within the All Progressives Congress. The meeting underscored the candidate’s plan to transform Ogun into a food basket for Lagos and the wider South‑West region.
