Nigerian international defender Oluwatosin Demehin has signed a three-year contract with Portuguese champions Benfica. The 24-year-old centre-back joins the club following her departure from the Turkish side Galatasaray.

Demehin noted that the move provides an ideal platform for her professional development, describing Benfica as ‘the best club in Portugal and one of the best clubs in the world.’ She revealed that she consulted with Super Falcons teammate Christy Ucheibe, a former Benfica player, regarding the move during a national team training camp.

The defender’s career path includes stints with Nigerian clubs Sunshine Queens and Rivers Angels, followed by moves to French club Stade de Reims in 2022 and Galatasaray in 2024.
