Olympia Forum VII addresses Greek industry and infrastructure

During the 7th Olympia Forum held in Ancient Olympia, discussions focused on the future of Greek industry and national infrastructure development.

Industry officials addressed the critical challenges facing the manufacturing sector, including competitiveness, innovation, energy costs, and supply chain shifts. Eleftherios Kritikos, General Secretary of Industry at the Ministry of Development, highlighted the importance of a new spatial framework for industrial zones. This reform aims to accelerate licensing processes, improve management relations, and create incentives for shared infrastructure to ensure organized and safe production growth.

Regarding infrastructure, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Nikos Tachiaos emphasized a technocratic approach to large-scale projects. He noted significant ongoing works, such as the E65 motorway, the expansion of the Thessaloniki Metro toward Kalamaria and the northwest, and recovery efforts in Thessaly following Storm Daniel, valued between 1.35 and 1.4 billion euros. Tachiaos also stated that the Flyover project is targeted for completion by May 2027.
