Olympia Quirónsalud implements multidisciplinary fibromyalgia care
The Neurology Service at Olympia Quirónsalud in Madrid, led by Dr. Rafael Arroyo, has implemented a multidisciplinary care circuit for the comprehensive management of fibromyalgia. Because fibromyalgia is a complex chronic condition involving generalized musculoskeletal pain, persistent fatigue, sleep disturbances, and cognitive difficulties, the center has moved toward integrated strategies rather than isolated pain treatments.
Under this model, the Neurology department acts as the central coordinator for each patient. Based on a global assessment of individual symptoms, the service coordinates a personalized therapeutic plan that can include specialists in physiotherapy, psychology, nutrition, rheumatology, and functional and integrative medicine.
Additional support tools available within the center include the Ice-Lab whole-body cryotherapy unit for physical recovery and a hyperbaric chamber unit to aid functional recovery and well-being. The program also utilizes a Non-Invasive Cerebral Neuromodulation Unit, led by Dr. Vanesa Pytel.
