Olympiacos pursues major transfers including Rubén Vargas and Edson Álvarez
Olympiacos is actively pursuing several key transfers to strengthen its roster before the summer window closes. The club has reportedly reached a personal agreement with Swiss winger Rubén Vargas. Negotiations with his current club, Sevilla, are in the final stages, with Olympiacos offering approximately €12 million plus €2 million in bonuses, while Sevilla seeks closer to €15 million.
In addition to Vargas, Olympiacos has submitted an official loan bid to West Ham United for Mexican international midfielder Edson Álvarez. While Real Sociedad has shown interest, the Greek side is moving forward with a formal approach. The club is also targeting Colombian midfielder Gustavo Puerta, having reportedly met his €16 million release clause at Racing Santander, though competition from Benfica and Eintracht Frankfurt remains.
Furthermore, the club is making moves for Danish full-back Joachim Mæhle from Wolfsburg, with reports suggesting the player has consented to the move. Olympiacos is also exploring a deal for 20-year-old Brazilian defender Arthur Gabriel from Palmeiras, with a proposed offer of €9 million.
